J Zhou Oriental Cuisine Restaurant Tustin District

J Zhou Oriental Cuisine opened at Tustin District approximately 3 months ago. I was anticipating the opening of this restaurant before my summer vacation but they had their grand opening while I was in Malaysia. Their signage was up very early and this restaurant reminds me of Jay Chou, a famous pop singer from Taiwan. Since I came back from Malaysia, I’ve been to this restaurant for 3 times.

We arrived around 10am. There was no line when we went there this morning for dim sum. The moment we stepped inside the restaurant, we were welcomed by the extensive Asian themed decorations and designs. It gives us a very elegant feel. My son said that this is a fancy restaurant. Their service is good, fast and prompt. Our tea was brought to us immediately after we ordered.

There are no servers pushing around the dim sum service carts.  Each table were given an order list and a menu.  We took our time to go through the menu (with pictures) and checked how many plates of each dishes we would like to order.  Then we turned in the list to the server.

We ordered 7 dim sum dishes.  The price for Small (S) is $2.98, Medium (M) is $4.28, Large (L) is $5.28, Special (SP) is $6.88 and Chef Special (C) is $7.98.  Tea price is $1.50 per person.

Our 7 dim sum dishes.  Our bill came to a total of ~ $32.00, after a 10% discount.

Overall, I find their food to be higher quality and freshness compared to China Garden and Sam Woo.  Prices are almost compatible with the other two restaurant for dim sum, may be slightly higher.  We don’t have many choices for dim sum restaurants in Irvine and glad to see another one joining the list.  The prices of these dim sum places will never be able to compete with those dim sum restaurants in  Monterey Park and San Gabriel area.  Either you pay more for each plate, or pay gasoline for the drive up there.

I can’t find the business hour on Yelp, so I took a picture and posted it here.
